Crosscurrent is a quartet that plays contemporary, hard swinging, acoustic, straight-ahead jazz. The group has delighted audiences with appearances at festivals, universities, colleges and nightclubs including appearances at Lionel Hampton Jazz Festivals, Gene Harris Jazz Festivals, Coeur d’ Alene Jazz Festivals, the Post Falls Jazz Festival and the Washington State University Jazz Festival. Jazz Player magazine describes Crosscurrent as four “of the finest musicians in the Inland Northwest.” The group’s CD Overdue was highly praised by David Gibson in the Saxophone Journal who wrote that “this is a fantastic CD and I highly recommend it.” Jerry Miller, host of Northwest Public Radio’s “Jazz Cornucopia” described the recording as “an exciting CD by a fine jazz group,“ and Don Adair of the Spokane Spokesman Review wrote that Overdue is “a hard-swinging record…each of the members has strong solo and ensemble strengths.” Crosscurrent features Greg Yasinitsky, saxophone; Erik Bowen, keyboards; Josh Skinner, bass; and Dan Bukvich, drums.
